CCTV News:At 15 o’clock this afternoon, Huawei released the most powerful AI processor "Shengteng 910" at its Shenzhen headquarters, and launched MindSpore, a full-scene AI computing framework. Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei Company, said at the press conference: The launch of "Shengteng 910" and MindSpore indicates that Huawei has completed the construction of full-stack and full-scenario AI solutions, and also indicates that the implementation of Huawei’s AI strategy has entered a new stage.

　　"Shengteng 910", the most powerful AI processor

　　The measured results show that "Shengteng 910" fully meets the design specifications in terms of computing power. What’s important is that the power consumption required to reach the design specifications is only 310W, which is significantly lower than the 350W in the design specifications. Xu Zhijun said: Huawei has used "Shengteng 910" for practical AI training tasks. Compared with the existing mainstream training single card with TensorFlow, the cooperation between "Shengteng 910" and MindSpore shows nearly 2 times performance improvement. Facing the future, Huawei will continue to invest, introduce more AI processors, and continue to provide more abundant, more economical and more adaptive AI computing power.

　　MindSpore Full Scene AI Computing Framework

　　Huawei also released MindSpore, a full-scene AI computing framework, today. Last year, Huawei’s full connection conference proposed that the AI framework should be development-friendly and efficient, and more importantly, it should be able to adapt to every scene, including the end, edge and cloud. After nearly a year’s efforts, MindSpore has made remarkable progress in these three aspects. MindSpore architecture support can be large or small, adapting to the independent deployment of the whole scene. MindSpore realizes cross-scene collaboration on the premise of ensuring the protection of users’ privacy data by cooperating with the processed gradient and model information without privacy information, rather than the data itself.

　　In addition to the "Ascending" processor, MindSpore also supports other processors such as GPU. In order to better promote the application of AI, MindSpore will realize open source in the first quarter of 2020, help every developer and promote the ecological development of AI industry.

　　Before releasing the above two products, Xu Zhijun first reiterated Huawei’s AI strategy: investing in basic AI research; Create a full-stack full-scenario solution; Investment in open ecology and talent training; Introduce AI thinking and technology into existing products and services; Applying AI to optimize internal management.

　　When reviewing Huawei’s original intention of formulating AI strategy, Xu Zhijun said that Huawei’s positioning AI is a new general-purpose technology, which will be applied to almost all parts of the economy, just like railways and electric power in the 19th century and automobiles, computers and the Internet in the 20th century.
