The word "cast" indicates the method used to fabricate the finished product. The process of casting is simple, where molten or liquid iron is poured into a mold. This mold is what defines the shape of the finished product. Cast iron is known for its ability to decrease vibrations and noise while insulating the temperature, helping water to stay warm longer. Bathtub Finish: This enamel-coated cast iron bathtub has been properly finished. This bathtub is built using the most durable materials making it impact-resistant. This bathtub has been fired at an extremely high temperature giving it a "fire polished" finish which easily takes on vivid colors and deep glosses. This high-end enamel finish is typically the most expensive, however it makes the bathtub’s surface resistant to acids, wear and provides superior protection against damage.
Bathtub Care: Cleaners containing silica or sand can be abrasive and should not be used. For general cleaning, use mild soap and water. For a more extensive cleaning to remove dirt, soap scum, ‘bathtub ring’ and or mineral deposits from the enamel surface, use a household cleansing paste. Apply this paste to the surface of the bathtub and let sit for a few minutes. Lightly scrub the bathtub surface with a soft cloth to remove any solid build-up. In all cleaning cases, make sure to rinse your bathtub thoroughly with water and dry the surface of the tub when you are finished.
